Vanguard

2003, North Carolina. That's the time and place American Oi! band "Vangaurd" got their start. Arming themselves with a heavy style of traditional American Oi! they set out to show that streetpunk can't compare to the true sound of true skinheads. Patriotism, working class pride, and subculture spirit, are all topics we've heard before, but "Vangaurd" is bringing it to you, pure and unfiltered. Their first release was a spit 12" with fellow North Carolinians "A.T.F.", who they also now share members with, in 2007 on American Defense Records. In 2008 Dim records released Vangaurd's debut full-length album entitled "Hard Road to Travel". Unlike a lot bands that seem to come and go, "Vanguard" is still playing shows. Unfortunately they had to cancel a show in New York this past month due to complications they explained as "Bull Shit". I believe they are getting ready to release or record a new album, which I'm sure will keep us wanting more, of the band we all know as VANGAURD!
